I'm back again with another tutorial. In August last year, I did my curly fauxhawk tutorial and wore a bright makeup look using Sugarpill Makeup because I was planning on working as a makeup artist for them at a festival in SF. I finally recreated it for a tutorial and posted it today :)
I have been writing articles for Beautylish and will post them here for you guys to see, so here you go if you're interested:

So I'm going to continue on with my trip to VA! The second day I was there, it was my cousin's graduation day and he really wanted me to have a fauxhawk on his big day which made me laugh and think it was cute at the same time. It was still kind of windy outside but it wasn't storming, which was a relief since I was planning on wearing a dress and heels. I'm so proud of my cousin for graduating :)
The dress & the jacket are from H&M. The belt is from Wet Seal and the heels are Cathy Jean (which coincidentally are my favorite).
After we went to a Mexican restaurant and I had a shrimp and avocado salad, my cousin Kaycee had tacos, my cousin Patrick chile relleno, and my aunt had salmon. The food was so good!
That night we went to this place in Washington D.C. called Co.Co Sala which is a chocolate place that has amazing desserts! We ordered an artichoke tart and a salad, then we had amazingggg desserts that left me speechless. So goood!
Sorry there's not much to this post today, but I hope it will suffice for now! Take care & I'll talk to you soon enough :)
I hope you are all doing well! I've been asked numerous times if I have a facebook and I do, although it's a personal one and I only add friends which is why I haven't publicly posted it. Although, I did create a facebook fan page for jazziebabycakes. If you are interested in liking and following along that would be great, please click here to do so! I created a video talking about it here:
Until next time, I'll talk to you soon :)
This month is a month of a lot of occasions and changes. Two days after my birthday I flew to VA after work to see my dear cousin Patrick graduate from university. I was there for 4 days and had an amazing time. The first day I got to catch up on sleep while they were at work and then played around with some makeup. Then we went out to dinner. I figured I’d post the outfit I wore because I liked it.
The blazer and cardigan are from H&M, the skirt and shoes are from Cotton On, and the belt was from Wet Seal I believe. I find it interesting the inexpensive finds I purchase that can snazzy up an outfit. The watch I’ve shown before, but it’s a vintage Minnie Mouse watch that my aunt gave me. We went to a restaurant that had great food.
I actually ate a lot of delicious food while I was on the east coast so bear with me while I flood this blog with food porn within the next couple of posts.
For now I’ll end here, but I do have more pictures to post of my trip to VA. I hope you enjoy the posts to come! Take care :)
I’ve had a couple of requests on this look and it’s something I’ve been doing on almost an everyday basis. It’s a great way to be neutral but to kick it up just a little bit with a shimmery duochrome color.

Before I show you my outfit, look at how gorgeous this child is with her blue eyes and curly blonde hair!
She's hilarious, my niece is an absolute riot. I normally don't like children, but this girl had me cracking up the whole time with her natural sarcasm and how straight forward she is. That is one thing I can say I enjoy about kids. During that day it was kind of windy and I'm glad my outfit was completely comfortable and flowy.
The sunglasses I wore are Rayban Wayfarers and I love them so much. I've just come to the realization that I need to embrace my hipster qualities and not fight them because I know a lot of the things I do and things I like are considered to be hipster, but its totally fine haha. If you're interested in the specific Raybans I have click here.
Most people don't see my nose piercing because it's so small, but I've had it for a year now. I have no regrets about it whatsoever. I love it. I actually wanted to pierce my nose a good couple of years ago but never did it. The earrings I'm wearing are from H&M. I believe I purchased them about 3 weeks ago to a month ago so I'm not sure if they're still in stores but feather accessories are popular right now, so I don't imagine anyone having trouble finding some.
I've really been enjoying wearing slouchy tops because they're very comfortable. I bought this pale jade colored one from Love Culture for about $13 I think. It's pretty inexpensive and completely comfortable. The tank underneath is from H&M and the leggings are from Cotton On.
I love to wear costume jewelry because I think they're so funky, inexpensive and fun to play with. Both of the rings I'm wearing I purchased in the diamond district in NYC on different trips there. The owl necklace and other chains are from Forever21 and the watch is actually a vintage Disney watch with Minnie Mouse on it. My aunt found it in her house a while back and since she doesn't have any daughters I asked her if I could have it and she said yes :)
This is a close up of the watch. It's so cute right?!
The sandals are from Mia and I bought at Nordstrom Rack. I love that my tattoos peeks out a little in this photo. I love how you can't see how big it is because it goes up to about 2/3 of my calf.
Even though it was a little windy, the weather was still fantastic. I'm hoping it starts getting warm regularly because I love this season. I hope all of your are doing well and I'll see you soon! :)
Overall after the whole process, I liked how my skin felt afterwards and the fact that my face smelled amazingly sweet didn't hurt either. I swear I wanted to lick my face for the next day it smelled so good!
I hope you are all having a good week thus far & that you're having great weather like we are here. You'll hear from me soon! Take care!
In another aspect though, when packaging is sleek, thought out and is designed with functionality in mind, I am more than overjoyed. The first time I saw how Inglot's palettes stack up and are magnetized completely made my day. They are great for packing your kit and stay closed so that your eye shadows and lip products don't get contaminated or possibly damaged during travel.
Another example of good design, especially good re-design is Urban Decay's Primer Potion. As you might have seen before, the packaging for this product was terrible for using the most out of the product. Trying to get the primer out of the bottle with the applicator was kind of a hassle in spots where the product would gather and the wand wouldn't be able to reach it. This is why I was so glad that they realized this and went to a much more usable squeeze bottle.
Do you pay attention to packaging when purchasing a makeup product & do you let it affect your purchase decision based on how you would use it or is it merely whether it looks good?

Hope you guys are having a great start to your week and that your Easter was fantastic! I'll talk to you all soon enough :)
1 chicken breast
1/4 of a small purple cabbage
about 8 romaine lettuce leaves
1/2 of an avocado
1/3 cup light sour cream
I pretty much just made wraps with them and filled the leaves with all of the toppings along with a couple of dollops of the light sour cream and a drizzle of the lime juice. I don't count calories 100% so I'm not too sure how many calories this meal is, but it is nonetheless a healthy meal as opposed to having tacos (especially ones that have a fried tortilla).
A lot of the food I make has a lot of color to it and I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I'm a graphic designer and makeup artist. I can't help but make things with color and food is no exception. A lot of what you enjoy is what looks good, so why not make sure your food looks appealing while it tastes so! By incorporating colorful and delicious vegetables into your food, you help yourself eat healthy and enjoy the food you're eating!
I hope this was helpful for some of you and until next time, cheers :)
